I have over three decades of technology, information risk management, and operations experience including two-plus decades in leadership roles at IBM. I am also passionately focused on ways companies can improve their offensive and defensive posture towards internal and external threats.
In 2015, I received the distinction of being named a Ponemon Fellow by the Ponemon Institute. I am also an award-winning speaker and author of professional and peer reviewed papers, blogs, and have published three books. And, I have a patent pending with the United States Trademark and Patent Office.
Through my podcast, Risk Stories! I cover a number of personal and professional risk issues that I believe are important to all of us. Topics range from cyber and information risk, to personal protection, to the value of maintaining a positive mental health. My current speaking topics focus on a business approach to ransomware, business resiliency, and crisis and incident management.
I hold a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Clemson University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Florida.
