Dealing With Cyber Bullies: A Personal Account
August 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm PDT
Join #CyberGuardian and SecureTheVillage Board Member Jason Meshekow for a discussion on cyber bullying.
With students spending more and more time learning and socializing online, the risk increases that they may find themselves the victim of a cyber attack or cyberbullying. Cyber attacks and cyberbullying can lead to a host of negative consequences and emotions for students. It’s important that parents know how to help their children to be less vulnerable online, and what their rights and recourses are if their child is attacked.
Below is an invitation for a webinar I am participating in that addresses this topic. This webinar will discuss the personal account of a student, ‘Ann’, on how she became a victim of a cyber attack, and how she was cyber bullied.
Join myself, and attorney Barry Miller from Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, as we discuss not only ‘Ann’s’ story, but these related topics:
- The laws governing electronic communications by, with, and about students
- Best practices for administration, faculty and students to prevent cyber attacks on students.
- Educating students on current cyber threats and what to look out for when they are using their electronic devices.
