Title: Evolving Cybersecurity Policies for Financial Institutions

Speaker: Dawn Marie Yankeelov, President & Founder of Aspectx, a PR & Communications Firm & Founder & Executive Director, Technology Association of Louisville Kentucky (TALK)

Dawn serves on the International Small Business Advisory Board of The CyberReadiness Institute, as well as the Tech Councils of North America’s (TECNA) Tech Public Policy Committee. She founded Aspectx, her PR and communications firm in 1989, serving international clientele including emerging technology companies, and federal plus state government agencies interested in growth.  In 2014, she then founded the employer-led, non-profit tech council, called the Technology Association of Louisville KY (TALK) which she leads as CEO and is active in advocacy, education and policy matters regarding cybersecurity. In 2017, TALK worked with the state of KY, and NICERC to implement a cyber engineering HS pathway for all school districts.  Yankeelov is also active in CyberUSA, and delivers STEAM curricula via TALK through programs tied to TechGirlz, acts as a connector to push forward the missions of Cyber.org & Teach Cyber for K-12 cyber education.  She has spoken regionally to the KY AFCEA chapter, and nationally to other groups on subjects pertaining to cyber education, and security. She has participated on workgroups associated with the US Cyberspace Solarium Commission.

Description: As a Critical Supply Chain, the banking and payments industries are important to the US critical infrastructure. We will look at how public policy is forming at the state and federal levels, and where trends to make a difference are going as ransomware, fraud and identity theft rise.
