Cyber Freedom: Securing Our Village – and Our Country’s Election Process
We are in a time of cyber crisis. Evidence continues to surface regarding:
- Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential Election
- Email infiltration of the Democratic National Committee
- Confirmed breaches into state election systems
- Fake news and Twitter bots
All of this on top of epidemic levels of cyber crime aimed at our mid-sized and smaller businesses and nonprofit organizations. Our freedoms and democratic way of life are under attack — and we must act now to create a cybersecurity-sensitive culture.
Through telling the story of the Russian breach of the Democratic National Committee, Stan will address the basic things every organization must do to effectively manage its cybersecurity risk. He will describe what’s being done – and what more needs to be accomplished – to build a cyber secure Los Angeles. And, he will discuss what we as a nation must do to have confidence in the integrity of our election process.
