Technology & Security Management HappyHour: Talking to the CSuite: Using the Open FAIR Standard Methodology for Quantifying and Managing Cyber Risk with Ray Austad
October 27 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm PDT
Join #CyberGuardian and SecureTheVillage Founder and President, Dr. Stan Stahl for our next Technology & Security Management HappyHour on October 27th!
Speaker: Based out of Los Angeles, Ray Austad started his IT and Information Security career in Higher Education and Non-Profit, and then pivoted after several years to enterprise financial service as a Business Information Security Officer in 2014. At the start of 2020, Ray took a different view of Cybersecurity and risks to business by moving over to Farmers Risk Management team as the Director Information Security and Risk Management. The first quarter was allocated to learning more about Enterprise Risk Management and adjusting to a role of business assurance, opposed to operational execution. Focus this year has be on improvements with information security risk thresholds, business resilience, collaborating with our operational and business partners to monitor pandemic impacts, and evaluating emerging risks.
Topic: Talking to the CSuite: Using the Open FAIR Standard Methodology for Quantifying and Managing Cyber Risk
Description: Organizations are increasingly transitioning to risk-based approaches to information security and operational risk, as compliance to regulations alone provide only a minimum layer of security and fail to adequately protect them. In this session, you’ll get insight with how to assessment these risks using Open FAIR standards, prioritize remediation, and have the data you’ll need to communicate to the CSuite.
You Will Learn How To:
- Speak in one language concerning your risk
- Take a portfolio view to organizational risk
- Challenge and defend risk decisions using an advanced risk model
- Understand how time and money will impact your security profile
